Housing and women who sell or exchange sex

7 October @ 11:00 am - 12:45 pm

Free

Housing is a key issue for everyone. However, women who experience commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) often face very specific challenges, including precarious tenancies, ‘sex for rent’, homelessness and exploitation, and the impact of No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).

Women who sell or exchange sex can experience barriers to accessing housing support, and these issues can in turn push them into exploitation, will remain an issue whilst involved, and can prevent them from moving on from this experience when they choose to.

To better understand housing issues for women in CSE, CSE Aware will be hosting a free webinar which will explore the following:

– ‘Sex for rent’: what we do and don’t know
– Housing issues for migrant and asylum-seeking women affected by commercial sexual exploitation
– Housing First: opportunities and challenges for women who sell sex

This Zoom session is open to frontline services, including but not limited to violence against women, housing, substance use, sexual health, mental health, and criminal justice.
