Legality is a key principle of taking a human rights based approach. What does this mean in practice? What does this mean for the antipoverty movement?
A human rights based approach requires the recognition of rights as legally enforceable entitlements, and is linked to national and international human rights law. The full range of legally protected human rights must be respected, protected and fulfilled.
In our final Rights in Action lunchtime webinar, we will hear from a panel speakers about the principle of legality, what this means for their work and what it means for the antipoverty movement more broadly.
This is the fifth and final webinar of a series on the PANEL principles. With each session focusing on one key principle of taking a human rights based approach.
Speakers include Charlie McMillan, Director of Human Rights Consortium Scotland, Dr Elaine Webster, Reader in Law at Strathclyde University and Emma Hutton Chief Executive Officer of JustRight Scotland.
This will be in a webinar format with speakers answering set questions, with space for a short Q&A at the end.
