Rights in Action lunchtime learning webinar: The PANEL principles to taking a human-rights based approach – Participation

9 September @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

How can we involve people with lived experience in the decisions that affect them, particularly groups furthest removed from their attaining their economic, social and cultural rights?

In our first Rights in Action lunchtime webinar, we will hear from a panel of speakers on participation and taking a human-rights based approach in anti-poverty work. We will hear about organisations’ experiences of supporting participation of experts by experience as well as reflections on how marginalised groups have been involved in decision making by duty bearers in Scotland. This session will include presentations by Laura Millar (Strategic Manager, Fife Gingerbread), Jenny Wartnaby (Research and Participation Officer, Zero Tolerance) and Steven Drew (Community Participation Officer, End Poverty Edinburgh) as well as time for Q & A.

Funded by the Scottish Government’s Equality and Human Rights Fund and supported by Inspiring Scotland, Rights in Action is a three-year project working across Scotland to support communities to use human rights as a tool for change.
